How it works
TB200 uses a colour-change reaction: the sample shifts from light blue (negative) to pink/fuchsia (positive) when total bacteria or fungi are present. Sensitivity scales with room-temperature incubation time — 100 CFU/mL at 24 hours, 1 CFU/mL at 48 hours, and down to 1 CFU/100 mL at 72 hours.
Collect a 100 mL water sample and add it to the TB200 pouch.
Cap and mix gently to dissolve the reagent.
Incubate at room temperature — 48 h for a 1 CFU/mL result, or 72 h for 1 CFU/100 mL.
Read the colour: light blue = negative; pink/fuchsia = positive.

Comparison
vs. traditional lab testing
Membrane filtration + R2A / HPC plate culture (48–72 h)
Off-site, multi-day turnaround. Requires lab account, membrane filtration manifold, and qualified microbiology technician. Per-test cost from $40–$120 plus shipping.
On-site, same-day result
On-site colour readout in 48–72 hours with no membrane filtration, plates or lab account — sensitive down to 1 CFU/100 mL.
