How it works
The AVX enhancer concentrates and amplifies the 100 mL sample so that 1 CFU/100 mL is detectable using a standard ACX (Coliform) or AEX (E. coli) vial. The chemistry is unchanged; the AVX kit adds the sample-prep and concentration step that pushes sensitivity 100-fold.

Comparison
vs. traditional lab testing
Membrane filtration lab culture (ISO 9308-1 / Standard Methods 9221)
Off-site, multi-day turnaround. Requires lab account, membrane filtration manifold, and qualified microbiology technician. Per-test cost from $40–$120 plus shipping.
On-site, same-day result
Drinking-water-spec sensitivity without a membrane filtration setup. Pairs with the base EX vials customers already stock.
Detection chemistry
How it detects
β-galactosidase / β-glucuronidase + amplification enhancer
Detects coliforms through enzyme-mediated color change. Galactosidase activity hydrolyzes the chromogenic substrate, producing a visible color shift proportional to bacterial concentration.
