ExactBlue EZ E. coli — Single-Test Pouch Kit

Wholesale pouch-format E. coli test for agricultural, retail, well-water, and food-processing surface monitoring. One pouch, 10 mL sample, 24-hour result.

How it works

Each single-use pouch contains a β-glucuronidase substrate selective for E. coli. Add a 10 mL water sample, seal, and incubate overnight — a color change confirms E. coli presence at sensitivity of 1 CFU/10 mL.

Detection limits

  • Sensitivity: 0.1 CFU/mL (1 CFU/10 mL)
  • Sample volume: 10 mL
  • Time to result: 24 hours

Applications

  • Agricultural irrigation water
  • Retail and grocery produce-misting checks
  • Private wells and source water
  • Food-processing surfaces and rinse water

Key features

  • Single-use pouch — no vials or glassware
  • Species-specific E. coli detection via β-glucuronidase
  • Aligned with EPA 1604
  • Manufactured in Canada under ISO 9001

How it works

EZ E coli is a single-test pouch version of the AquaVial EX E. coli β-glucuronidase chemistry. Pre-loaded reagent in a 10 mL sample volume gives a 1 CFU/10 mL (≈0.1 CFU/mL) sensitivity. Read by visible color change — no lab.

1

Collect 10 mL water sample for testing and add it to test vial

2

Incubate

3

add the cartridge and release the liquid into the test

4

Read by visible color change; positive triggers retest/action

Comparison

vs. traditional lab testing

Traditional method

Membrane filtration lab culture (ISO 9308-1 / Standard Methods 9221)

Off-site, multi-day turnaround. Requires lab account, membrane filtration manifold, and qualified microbiology technician. Per-test cost from $40–$120 plus shipping.

With ExactBlue

On-site, same-day result

Easy single-use format — ideal for retail, vet, agriculture and food-processing surfaces where a 25-test kit is overkill.

Detection chemistry

How it detects

β-glucuronidase (10 mL sample volume)

Selective for E. coli via β-glucuronidase activity. The enzyme cleaves a fluorogenic/chromogenic substrate to produce a distinctive color change.
