ExactBlue Quick Check — 1-Hour In-Office Dental Waterline Test

Wholesale 1-hour DUWL test kit for dental distributors and DSO purchasing programs. Standalone visual readout — no reader, no incubator, no lab work required.

How it works

The kit uses surface plasmon resonance (SPR) gold-nanoparticle chemistry tuned for a 1-hour read window. Collect the waterline sample, add to the vial, wait 60 minutes, and read the color change against the 500 CFU/mL CDC action threshold.

Detection limits

  • Action threshold: 500 CFU/mL (CDC DUWL guideline)
  • Time to result: 1 hour at room temperature

Applications

  • Dental unit waterline compliance
  • Chairside in-office monitoring
  • DSO multi-site QA programs
  • Pre/post-shock verification routines

Key features

  • Standalone visual readout — no Mobile Lab reader required
  • Meets CDC DUWL ≤500 CFU/mL guideline
  • Faster than overnight kits, no incubator
  • Manufactured in Canada under ISO 9001

How it works

ExactBlue Quick Check uses the same SPR (gold nanoparticle) chemistry as AquaVial Quick Check, optimized for the 1-hour dental-waterline workflow. Standalone visual readout — no reader needed. Calibrated to the CDC 500 CFU/mL dental unit waterline action threshold.

1

Collect 20-50 ml sample in a clean cup and concentrate it using the sample concentration kit provided

2

add concentrated sample to the test vial

3

Incubate 1 hour at 35-40°C

4

Read visible color change; pass/fail at 500 CFU/mL action threshold

Detection limits

AStandard: 10 mL sample, 1 hr @ 35-40°C → 500 CFU/mL action threshold

Comparison

vs. traditional lab testing

Traditional method

Membrane filtration lab culture (ISO 9215 R2A media (7 day incubation))

Off-site, multi-day turnaround. Requires lab account, membrane filtration manifold, and qualified microbiology technician. Per-test cost from $40–$120 plus shipping.

With ExactBlue

On-site, same-day result

Result in 1 hr vs the 24 hr Safe Check workflow or days-long lab send-out. Standalone (no reader required).

Detection chemistry

How it detects

SPR nanoparticle (gold colloid aggregation)

Uses surface plasmon resonance nanoparticles that change color when binding to bacterial cell-wall surface markers. Direct visual readout in 15-60 minutes.
