AquaVial COLI100 Drinking Water Test Kit

Wholesale 100 mL drinking-water test kit for distributors, well-water programs, and municipal compliance screening. Detects total coliform at the regulatory 1 CFU/100 mL drinking-water specification.

How it works

A 100 mL water sample is added to a single-use pouch containing a chromogenic β-galactosidase substrate. After incubation, a color change indicates coliform presence at sensitivity of 0.01 CFU/mL.

Detection limits

  • Sensitivity: 0.01 CFU/mL (1 CFU/100 mL — drinking-water spec)
  • Sample volume: 100 mL
  • Time to result: 24–72 hours

Applications

  • Private well and rural drinking-water testing
  • Municipal compliance screening
  • Bottled-water QA
  • Disaster relief and field deployment
  • Distributor-led drinking-water programs

Key features

  • Meets the 1 CFU/100 mL drinking-water specification
  • Aligned with Standard Methods 9221
  • Single-use pouch — no glassware, no incubator
  • Manufactured in Canada under ISO 9001

How it works

COLI100 is the 100 mL-volume version of AquaVial COLI chemistry — same β-galactosidase substrate, but the 100 mL sample volume lifts sensitivity to the regulated drinking-water level (1 CFU/100 mL). Designed as a single-test consumer / verification pack.

1

Comparison

vs. traditional lab testing

Traditional method

Membrane filtration lab culture (ISO 9308-1 / Standard Methods 9221)

Off-site, multi-day turnaround. Requires lab account, membrane filtration manifold, and qualified microbiology technician. Per-test cost from $40–$120 plus shipping.

With ExactBlue

On-site, same-day result

Drinking-water-spec sensitivity in a single one-shot pouch — no lab account, no membrane filtration.

Detection chemistry

How it detects

β-galactosidase (100 mL sample volume)

Detects coliforms through enzyme-mediated color change. Galactosidase activity hydrolyzes the chromogenic substrate, producing a visible color shift proportional to bacterial concentration.
